Hoppe's Elite Gun Kit on the Go Cleaning Kit

I received my Hoppe's Elite Gun Kit on the Go Cleaning Kit this past week and had a little time to get used to it as all my rifles were ready to be cleaned thoroughly. This is the first cleaning kit that I have purchased and it fit the purpose of providing certain things that I needed but also showed me what I need to purchase next. The Hoppe's Elite Gun Kit on the Go Cleaning Kit is a very compact cleaning kit made for, just like it states, on the go type of cleaning. It comes with the few brushes that can get you through most jobs but the plus side of this kit is the cleaning solutions. The Hoppe's Elite cleaning solution and the Hoppe's gun oil make up most of the price of the kit. The bore brushes that come with the kit say they range over the usual calibers but I would stick to using the brush for its exact size.

One note about the cleaning rod is that it is intended for on the go purposes. Meaning it is not made for at home cleaning where it will endure a lot of abuse. It is a simple screw together rod for quick cleaning either out at the range or cleaning up after a day out in the woods. I would recommend using this kit as a starter kit for the car or a range bag and purchase a larger kit for home use.

I would definitely suggest this to others and I would purchase again. It fits its name by being a great "on the go" kit.

I think I will be purchasing the Hoppe's Premium Cleaning Kit as a follow up to this starter kit to fulfill the different calibers I am missing at the moment and to have a better at home cleaning kit. Also the Otis Elite Cleaning System is another kit that looks promising if you prefer the cord style cleaning over rod.
